Service provider: UniTiro (“UniTiro”, “we”, “our”, “the Platform”)

This document serves as both:

  1. Privacy Policy – explaining how we collect, process, and protect personal data, and

  2. Terms of Service – defining rules for using the UniTiro platform.

By using the UniTiro platform, you accept all provisions of this document.

I. DEFINITIONS

  1. UniTiro / Platform / Service – the educational and application-support platform available at: https://unitiro.com

  2. User – any person who visits or uses the Platform, including those who create an account.

  3. Administrator / Controller – UniTiro, responsible for managing and protecting personal data.

  4. GDPR – Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on personal data protection.

  5. Services – tools and features available on the Platform, including university search, program comparison, application guidance, housing resources, reminders, and user accounts.

II. TERMS OF SERVICE

1. General provisions

  1. UniTiro provides information, tools, and resources related to studying abroad, universities, programs, housing options, and application support.

  2. Use of the Platform is voluntary.

  3. Creating an account is required to access advanced features (favorites, reminders, saved searches, personalized application steps).

  4. The Platform is intended for individuals aged 16 or older.

2. Technical requirements

To use UniTiro properly, Users need:

– an internet-enabled device,

– an up-to-date web browser,

– a valid email address (required for account creation).

3. Account creation

  1. Users must provide accurate and truthful data during registration.

  2. Users must keep login details confidential and not share them with third parties.

  3. Accounts may be deleted at any time by contacting support or using the account management settings.

4. Acceptable use

Users agree to:

– use the Platform in accordance with applicable laws,

– provide accurate information,

– refrain from actions that may harm the Platform or other Users.

Prohibited actions include:

– copying or redistributing content without permission,

– attempting to hack, disrupt, or damage the Platform,

– impersonating others,

– spamming or fraudulent behavior of any kind.

5. Availability and liability

  1. UniTiro provides informational resources; final decisions made by Users (such as choosing a program or housing) are their own responsibility.

  2. UniTiro does not guarantee acceptance to any university or availability of housing.

  3. Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates, or technical issues.

  4. UniTiro is not liable for content provided by third-party institutions (universities, housing providers, partners).

6. Account suspension or removal

UniTiro may suspend or remove an account if:

– the User violates these Terms,

– harmful or illegal activity is detected,

– the account poses a security risk.

III. PRIVACY POLICY

A. Data provided by Users

– name and surname,

– phone number (optional),

– nationality and study preferences,

– saved programs, selected filters, application information,

– uploaded documents (optional): CV, motivation letters, transcripts, certificates.

B. Data collected automatically

– IP address,

– device identifiers,

– browser type,

– usage statistics,

– cookies and tracking technologies.

3. Purposes of data processing

We process personal data to:

  1. Provide and operate the Platform (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

  2. Create and maintain User accounts (Art. 6(1)(b)).

  3. Provide personalized recommendations and application support (Art. 6(1)(f)).

  4. Send emails, notifications, or newsletters (Art. 6(1)(a) – consent).

  5. Perform analytics to improve the Platform (Art. 6(1)(f)).

  6. Fulfill legal obligations (Art. 6(1)(c)).

4. Sharing of data

UniTiro may share personal data with:

– universities or educational institutions (only if the User uses application-support services),

– partner housing providers (optional features),

– IT service providers such as hosting, analytics, and communication tools,

– government authorities if legally required.

UniTiro does not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Data retention

Data is stored:

– as long as the User has an active account,

– for up to 3 years after account deletion for security, audit, and compliance purposes,

– until consent is withdrawn (for data processed based on consent).

6. User rights

Under GDPR, Users have the right to:

– access their data,

– correct or update data,

– delete data (“right to be forgotten”),

– restrict processing,

– transfer data,

– object to certain processing,

– withdraw consent at any time,

– lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Authority.
